On the footsteps of the others

Quoted from "parador" Quoted from "Brockpaine" Quoted from "parador" The archipelago is a Terra Nullius, it belongs to nobody and no one claims the island. OOC: I do not believe that to be true. When Skull Island first came up early in Wesworld, I believe it was claimed by the Netherlands as part of the Dutch East Indies. Taken into account, the position of the island (noted by Bruce: 12 dgs 5 min South, 78 dgs 17 min East) - somewhere in the middle of nowhere i would say ... it could also be c...

Beijing Newspaper Q4/1948 - Chinese news and events - October / November / December

Quoted from "BruceDuncan" Parador scripset: Quoted Friday 12. November early morning - Research Vessel Xue Long - 78dgs east 12dgs south The machine telegraph shows "STOP" and the captain tried to detect something with his binoculars. But in front of his ship, a dense fog wall spread, which could not be penetrated either by eyes nor by the ships radar. In a short conference, both the crew and the scientists on board discussed what was likely the reason of the sudden appearance of the fog. I am ...

Philippine News and Events 1949

Quoted from "BruceDuncan" The Manila Times, Monday, 21 February 1949 The Ministry of Defense confirmed that a military-technical commission will depart for Europe in this week to evaluate the potential acquisition of new armored vehicles for the Philippine Army. Concerns have been raised regarding the relative weakness of the Army’s mechanized forces in the face of reports of China’s continued military build-up. The Russian Federation humbly suggests that the Filipino commission take the opport...

Commuter Aircraft Trials

The Chileans would love to offer the Constelación Twin Condor, which - near as I can tell, meets all of the specs, especially the STOL performance. It has a decent service history in South American service. Constelación wanted to offer it for license-production in Australia, but since that doesn't seem to be panning out, China might perhaps be a market... Quoted Constelación Twin Condor, Serie-400 or Serie-425 Utility Aircraft General characteristics - Crew: 2+ - Passengers: 20 - Length: 52 feet...

Preliminary Profile - Empresa Nacional de Aviación T-27 Tapaculo Advanced Training Aircraft

Quoted from "BruceDuncan" Quoted from "Brockpaine" What bomb damage? I don't think any of the combatants actually bombed Peru's (small) aero industry. I vaguely recall a news item about Peru's aircraft factory being 'blitzed' at some point. Afraid I can recall the exact details. I may of course be off base. I did go back and check the official news thread. There was one land-based and one carrier-based air raid on Lima and Callao, but both of them targeted warships in Callao harbor and a few mi...

Burnelli CB-27 Aigaion

From one of my final conversations with Jason, he did intend to introduce the B-36, but in pretty small numbers. The Aigaion specs make for an interesting pie-in-the-sky daydream, but I expect the reality of the aircraft will soon set in. From my quick read-up on the B-36, even the US had a lot of misgivings about the Peacemaker's usefulness. And the size of the Aigaion (wingspan particularly) will definitely limit its basing options. Wouldn't it be better for Australia to invest in some easier-...
