Meanwhile, in Russia: 1948

Japan was under the impression that the "Red Hero" was the "Red Hero" because of the red clothes he wore while going into battle against the Chinese and not because he was a communist. Unfortunately, while his red outfit inspired his fellow countrymen in battle and boosted their morale, it also made him an easy target. While Japan would not mind helping out Mongolia, its location is a bit of an issue. Getting stuff to them through China or Chinese airspace is obviously not an option and Japan is...

1940s IJN designs

Super Battleship Harima I and Battleship Harima II... Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately), the Imperial Japanese Navy destroyed all plans of both versions of the ship and hacked into my computer to remove all the SS data that there was on the original Harima design and the downgraded version. Well, I could post them, but they are just silly designs and were never meant to be serious (-:

Nordish Tanks

Considering relations, I would think that they would look at South Africa first before any other nation. Another thing is that for Nordmark, a medium tank could be something in the 20-30 ton range (which could be deemed more than acceptable by Nordmark Army Command) rather than the 35-45 you mentioned (which would be deemed too heavy).

French News, 1948

Quoted Among the largest. Still needs another 10,000 tons to be considered to be anywhere near "among the largest". But having taken a quick look through the encyclopedias, Tonnant and Terrible do appear to be the largest under construction in Europe, but since you mentioned "in Europe or abroad" I read that as "in Europe or the rest of the world". Should be noted that since you mentioned "warships", the battleships Oshima and Aki are also much larger in displacement and the Shinano and Echizen...

Japan 1949

March 2, 1949 As the night sky in the east began to slowly become lighter, Commander Nambu Nobukiyo ordered the crew of his submarine to go down and prepare to dive. Before he went down himself, Nobukiyo looked up at the star-filled sky. It would be quite a while before he and his crew would see it again once the I-316 had submerged. Nobukiyo was actually quite eager to head West and terrorize Chinese shipping with their presence, but unfortunately for him and fortunately for the Chinese, the or...
