German News and Events 1949

Well I must admit it is surprising, though it is all stored equipment. Looking at the latest Air Force order of battle its clear how long Greece has been NPC and the line up of aircraft is pretty outdated with a lot of ground to make up. As a close and old ally, rest assured that practically anything in production in Britain is available to Greece, be it jets or anything else.

New Designs and Refits of the Greek Fleet

I don't think you need to go to the expense and hassle of auto-loading for the 6in guns. A good well drilled gun crew will still put up a good performance with 6in guns in terms of rounds per minute. Also, don't forget we have a rule about auto guns that adds misc weight per gun so that really does begin to eat up tonnage.

Methinks we haven't heard the last of the Lefkis. The Royal Navy will nod sagely, they will suspect a neat job by some Italian frogmen.

I should think that production can be arranged fairly quickly. It has been fully tested for 6.5x51 FAR, 7x43 British and 7.65x53 Belgian Mauser, so some modifications and testing for 7.5x55 and 7.92x57 would be necessary but there would be no fundamental problems with this and could be arranged easily. If anything FN likes the idea as it would widen its appeal to even more markets using these rounds. If Greece wants to do comparative trials against the G6 then FN are happy for that to happen and...

Fast Bomber Replacement Program English Electric can tender its Canberra, specs will be as the OTL B.2. Delivery not likely until later in 1951 though. The first prototype made its maiden flight on 28 August 1949. Following trials the Air Force took delivery of 50 production aircraft from July 1951. Wingspan: 9.50m Length: 9.20m Heig...

It is a real never-were project, historically designed by Kurt Tank but of course in WW that's not possible so is home grown. Below is the plan of the aircraft, a good looking design. FMA hopes it might spark some export interest like the I-100 and I-02 did back in the 1930s.
