I believe that a re-examination of the report could be in order.

Unless I have missed something the sum of the prior stated balance (1,127 tons) plus new material available from domestic and East African sources totals only 28,127 tons, rather than the cited total of 29,612. I see no mention in the current or prior reports of tonnage becoming available via scrapping.

The apparently available 28,127 tons is less than the quantity stated to have been consumed, 28,834 tons, leaving a deficit of 707 tons.

In checking prior reports for availability of scrap material, I find that there is a comparable error in the 2nd Quarter Report, where the sum of prior balance, domestic production and transfers from East Africa total only 27,174 tons, but 27,652 tons is stated as being consumed.

If recycled tonnage accounts for the differences, it appears to be absent from the reports.

It seem that the part of my spreadsheet calculating available tonnage got locked into a value that would have been there when the plan was incomplete. That error has now been fixed. To correct this, the Giuseppe Cei will be allocated only 1583t this quarter, leaving a surplus of 0t rolled over. The noted error in Q2 is a transcription error from my spreadsheet and does not effect the numbers for Q3/44 and on. I will amend it in the report to the correct 26652 tons.
