"There, that one!"

66.5km of coastline, defended by 36 coast defense guns, that's a gun every 1.84km !!

That's about the same as my land border with Germany!!

Apparently I'd better get to work on my northern border, then!

Lenght, not number of guns........do you think I'd tell you I had that few guns?????

Exactly. a mere 66.5 kilometers. Perhaps the Belgians should place an order for XXXL guns from Germany. :)

Verdammit ! Das ist verboten!
For shame to even mention it

(blithely ignores the presence of many Krupp & other German guns in the Belgian inventory- a total of about 1300 there)

That few? But what great potential density.
The Dutch in comparison have roughly 1 gun per 73km of coastline, though if you cheat and add 40mm AAs it drops to 1 gun per 30km. So Belgium is managing a higher ratio of guns/unit of coastline !!!
(ok, so the absolute numbers are a little different...)

Not to mention all the Mausers in the inventory. ::) OK, they may have been produced by FN, but they're still German by design.

The next event in May will be a Hendon Air Display but reservations for that will be handled later.

Hendon as in THE Hendon? Where this thing is located?

The view standing between an F-86 and a MiG-15. This made a bigger impression on me than the B-52 at IWM Duxford.

Guess I will mention it again then. :D

aaaaaaaahhhhhhhh it burns !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am exaggerating here, Belgium doesn't demonize the Germans, just has some painful memories and a feeling of insecurity as Germany rearms and alters her borders

Eventhough ShinRa is enjoying his cruise through Europe at this moment, I am sure the Canadians will send a few ships as well for the same reasons as the Australians are. :)

Japan is thinking about sending its whole Ocean-going submarine fleet and use the opportunity to sink all British vessels present at the Spithead review... :D

All Commonwealth nations are obliged to turn up... afterall the King is Head of State of Canada and Australia.

Spithead will be guarded by destroyers and sloops, don't want any repeats of the Turbina episode... bad for security and bad for showing up the Admiralty.

[Any Jap subs will be engaged with 1 ton depth-charges]

Yes, that is the Hendon I mean. During the 1930s there was always a new types display every year, Farnbourough is still only a test site but SBAC shows will begin there sometime in the late 1930s.
