22th June 1921

Pretoria. Early this morning, after a conference with the acting Minister of Defence, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and high ranks of navy, army and air force, His Majesty the King ordered all elements of the Empires armed forces in the colony of Uruguay to be on alert.

It was further ordered that the 1st Division of the 2nd Torpedoboat Flotilla will leave St. Helena for Montevideo [1] and all elements of the flotillas 2nd Division which were deployed to Port Louis for the joint maneuver with India will join them in Montevideo after refuelling in Cape Town [2]. The 2nd Division of the 1st Torpedoboat Flotilla, currently deployed to Majunga, will sail to St. Helena [3].

As a spokesman put it “these orders are held necessary to react to the latest actions of the Argentine Government to send out their fleet to unknown waters after protesting heavily against the change of ownership of the islands of South Georgia, South Shetlands and the South Sandwich Islands.”

Players Notes:

[2] The boats of the 2nd Division will arrive in Montevideo on the 11th of July with an average speed of 15kn.

[3] These boats will be at St. Helena on the 30th of June when sailing at an average speed of 20kn and refuelling in Cape Town.
